Whenever I visit my grandparents in the South, I wind up eating a whole lot of Wonder bread. It has all the flavor complexity of styrofoam. I didn't even like it as a kid, but my mother insisted on whole wheat because it's what she grew up with. It was the one food-related thing in which she refused to indulge my dad.
