I think styrofoam might have more, although perhaps not better, flavor than Wonder Bread.
We have friends from Tonga, and they said growing up Spam and canned corned-beef-hash were delicacies, while fresh fish was so commonplace no one gave it a second thought. For my family the real delicacies were tropical fruits, which our friends had growing in their yards, and the only fresh fish I ever saw before moving to Long Island (as a teenager) was catfish, perch, or bass. On the other hand, we used to get grass-fed prime sirloin at the local grocery store in east Texas as a kid, and I haven't been able to find that outside a restaurant in 40 years.
