Emma Approved question

Anyone here still watching Emma Approved? I've been thinking about how the rest of the story might play out and have a question.

I think the writers intend us to see the shift of Emma's company toward "making the world better" as evidence of her personal growth. I'm hesitant to accept that for several reasons, one of which is that she still films everything. She’s more pushy/creepy about it now than ever, as evidenced by her interactions with Jane. While it was nice to see her shift from “documenting my greatness” in ep. 1 to “documenting our greatness” in ep. 49, she is still at least as concerned about getting the credit for doing good as she is about actually doing good. Much more concerned, I’d say (perhaps unfairly).

Emma getting rid of the cameras and all they represent would do much to convince me she’s truly changed. I would actually love to see her do that, even though we viewers would be left with an incomplete story.

Obviously that’s not going to happen. Emma will keep filming through the end of the story—but why, in-world? One hopes she will develop some desperately-needed humility during the upcoming crisis, which makes the continued documentation of her “greatness” …well, problematic, to say the least.

Will she just keep filming out of habit? Because giving up on it would mean giving up on herself? As some weird form of penance? Thoughts, anyone?
