Survey: Knightley's name in Emma Approved

I was puzzled when I heard that Mr. Knightley's name in "Emma Approved" was Alex intead of George, while no other name was changed. I tried to come up with reasons why the writers should have done it but, apart from "Alex" being more suitable to nicknames such as "Practical Al", I found none.

So, I'm asking you: why do you think a modern Knightley can't/couldn't/shouldn't be named George?
