Re: Sequels about Georgiana?

I have read a few chapters so far, and I was wondering why, after three years and a half from the events of P&P, Georgiana is still so shy and insecure. Living with Elizabeth for so long should have made her a bit more confident, I think! JA jerself wrote something along these lines at the end of the novel... So why the author described her this way?

I hope to find an answer in the following chapters, though any insight of yours would be welcome :)
