You and I agree. I must not have said it clearly. Darcy was well within his rights to find her unattractive. What I can't excuse is how he said it. It wasn't even civil, let alone kind. It was calculated to get Bingley off his back, and I don't think he particularly cared if it made its way back to her. There may be reasons for his behavior but not, in my opinion, an excuse.
