better than I expected

The paper describes a simple dynamical-systems model which is motivated by the evolution of romantic relationships. The authors support the model by showing how the results match the events of P&P. It seems a little thin (but it's been so long since I did this sort of math - ODE's for dynamical systems - that I've forgotten a lot of it, so maybe it would seem 'thicker' if my intuition for this method was better), but matching gross outcomes is at least a good first step. I would have liked to see some more detailed analysis comparing points in the phase space with emotional states (rather than the crude, he starts liking her more each time, and then she suddenly stops hating him and boom!), but I think it's possible the authors of the paper never read P&P, and are using the movie starring KK instead of the book. As we all know, it look Elizabeth some time and TWO events before she started to love Darcy (the letter, which the paper talks about, and meeting him at Pemberley, which they don't mention) and a good deal of time (which they don't mention).

Anyway, thanks again to Amy I. for helping me find the paper - my interest in this is because (if I ever get any free time) I want to try to some new techniques to see if I can describe plot evolution in novels, and having an independent model to compare with is always helpful.
