My biggest regret about UA at this point is that I used American spelling instead of British, and I need to change my spell check to British English.
As a Brit I find myself immune to American spellings. Ninety percent of the stuff I read is by American authors, and I don't even notice the different spellings any more. (although Americanisms in a Regency will pull me out of a story) Many of the word meanings and spellings used by Jane Austen aren't even modern British - using teaze instead of tease, or shew instead of show, for example - so you wouldn't be that much closer to the Austen style using a British dictionary.
Maybe some bright spark can invent an Austen dictionary add-on for Word? :)
