On the other hand, it could be argued that reviews were good for the book even before the pseudonym was unveiled to be J.K. I personally did not enjoy Casual Vacancy as much as I enjoyed Harry Potter, and some of the custormer reviews for The Cuckoo's Calling suggest that it is dull. So, I don't know ... perhaps not every story and set of characters inspire a writer to be compelling.
