On another board Victoria posted the following a couple of days ago:
"The JAFF Index has been down since at least yesterday (Aug 17th) evening, for reasons we don't quite understand. It could be a denial of service attack on our Internet line generally; nothing is working there. As far as we know, the server is okay, and everything is backed up anyway. *Sigh* it seems the problems never cease. I'll keep all of you posted the best I can."
This morning she added:
"Still down, after three days, still not sure exactly what happened ... and no immediate end in sight yet. Please, if you see comments on other sites wondering what happened to the Index, pass the word. My net access is limited at the moment to an ancient Mac at work, on which Firefox crashes often because it can no longer be updated, or iPhone, on which any significant amount of typing is a challenge for these senior non-texting-accustomed fingers. We're working on the technical issues and hoping to get everything back in place soon. And thank you to all who expressed support."
