I had read the book (disappointing) before the TV programme aired here in the UK. I was also a bit disappointed with the adaptation.
I thought Darcy was very well cast and suitably proud at times but the actress who played Elizabeth was made to look rather unattractive IMHO.
Lydia was excellent - just as I imagined her at that stage in her life - and Georgiana was not too bad.
Spoiler coming.
I love the actor who played the Colonel but hated the way that the book/script portrayed his character. (I've probably read too much fanfic which generally portrays him as almost as loveable as Darcy!)
All that said, I have since seen the adaptation twice and I must admit that it is growing on me. I'll watch it again when it's on.
