I'm a long-time reader of the many wonderful stories on this site and have found myself stumped in trying to find a certain story I want to re-read. JAFF was not helpful in this case, so I'm going to the pros!
The Gardiners are of the bohemian type and host poets and intellectuals in their parlor - I think a Mr. Monkhouse was one of them. Darcy comes to call on Elizabeth and thoroughly enjoys the mentally stimulating atmosphere...any ideas which one this is?
There is another scene I'm trying to place - Jane and Elizabeth are needing to have dresses made, they find a seamstress and purchase the fabric outside the conventional method. Later, the Countess of Matlock ends up wanting to patronize the seamstress or, at a minimum, admires the gowns. I know that is not from A Fortuitous Meeting, as I just re-read that one!
Thanks in advance for the help!
