The problems for me with the depiction of Mr. Collins in this movie was that he was short and more silly than overbearingly serious. The character also did not look 25 to me, and in fact, much closer to 35 and up. He is memorable, but then cartoons often are.

As drawn by the movie, he can easily be imagined wearing bear grease on his slicked down, lanky hair. That would lead to him smelling unpleasantly. Creepy with more than a hint of menace under his pompousness, he fits the fanfic description, odious toad. The actor should be lauded for his craft, and in other roles, he appeared relatively attractive.
