I agree with you. Practically perfect protagonists are both less realistic and less interesting than flawed ones. And I definitely agree with why and how Darcy comes to love her! This goes along with the stories that insist that he said what he did at the assembly because either a) he didn't really look at her, or b) he was afraid to admit how attracted he was, and that from the moment he actually did look at her he was lost. Now, I love a good love at first sight story as much as any other romantic, but I firmly believe that P&P is not one, and that it's so much better when Darcy first falls for her personality and then becomes physically attracted, than that he started with physical attraction and proceeded from there.
