Stratification is only worse by some fairly narrow measures - there is a strong tendency for fungible items to be exponentially distributed. Having more of something fungible does not, in my view, make a situation inherently worse, but it does mean that thing will be 'more concentrated' if you measure concentration by saying what percent the richest person has. I don't have a private jet, but I've been able to spend most of my life doing what I want with it, and this is fairly common here in Silicon Valley. That's a kind of wealth almost no one in Regency England had, which is the sort of stratification I was thinking about.
