Shem when Col. fitz said his older brother died my first reaction was "oh no! Not ASH! POOR KITTY!" (Just finished reading your awesome Effect stories)
And that it was Saunderson I think? (p&p1995) who was now playing Col Fitz (upgrade indeed!) and all I could think was him saying in the 1995 movie at the netherfield ball "I would dance with both your sisters at once if I could!"
I'm in the US and just watched it on YouTube last night and wow!
I really really loved the movie (as a big jaff fan anyways tho right? Thats why I love dwg)
I did wish Elizabeth was not cast like that. She looked 45+ to me.
My husband also loved the movie a lot. That's a bonus!
A couple things I didn't like so much was the messages of being a woman means if you show emotion you need a tranquilizer (draught). That if you are married and secure you are sad and aged looking and don't have fun like the crazy loose cannons - the wickhams. I think they just should have recast Elizabeth and why did she look prettier before she wed? Was it just her doubt as her qualifications to be a Darcy that caused her to become mousey like Mary? I don't get it. We're they trying to shine the light away from Elizabeth?
Still I loved it. A lot. Thought it was beautiful scenery and was stumped until the end. Was very good!
