Re: An establishment?

I suppose it's similar to Caroline and Bingley. She stays in town with her married sibling rather than Bingley renting something for the two of them, and when Bingley has a house in the country, she and Louisa come to stay with him. Fanfiction makes much of her being her brother's hostess, but Austen does not distinquish whether it is the married Louisa or the single Caroline who is hostess -- I think? Is there any Austen text which declares Caroline Bingley's hostess while they are at Netherfield?

In Mansfield Park, too, Henry Crawford could have given his sister a home by having her come and stay at his country estate, but he rents out the manor and spends his time traveling about -- admittedly often in the company of his sister. But Mary receives a more permanent home from their older half-sister.

Georgiana, unlike Caroline and Mary C., does not a sister to fall back on. I have always wondered, too, that only after Darcy married Elizabeth did Georgiana truly call Pemberley home.

Pemberley was now Georgiana's home; and the attachment of the sisters was exactly what Darcy had hoped to see.
So, with Elizabeth in residence, Georgiana could give up her London establishment and call Pemberley her principle abode.

I wonder if it would have been considered indecent for a brother and sister to live together? I have not done any research on this topic, and I would love to hear from someone who has. In lieu of that, I will entertain speculation. :)
